Mental Health and Wellbeing

At Ponteland High School, we recognise that supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our pupils is of utmost importance.

We are committed to creating an environment where our pupils can thrive, both academically and emotionally. By prioritising mental health and wellbeing, we aim to empower our students to develop the resilience and self-awareness they need to navigate the challenges of adolescence and beyond. We are here to support you and your child every step of the way.

To fulfil this commitment, we have implemented a range of initiatives and support systems to nurture the mental health and overall wellbeing of our pupils. Some of the key steps we take include:

  • Ensuring mental health is regularly covered in every year group as a part of our RSHE Curriculum.
  • Fostering a culture of strong relationships, where pupils feel comfortable reaching out to teachers or support staff when they need assistance.
  • Offering a broad and varied programme of enrichment opportunities and sporting activities.
