This year, we are trialling a new approach for the Y9 Options Process. This has involved the creation of a new website to help Year 9 students make informed choices about the three options subjects that they will study in years 10 and 11..
The website can be viewed here and contains useful information about all of the subjects, both core and optional, that students will study in Year 10 & 11. Information on careers and Post-16 routes can also be found on the website.
The Options Form, which needs to be submitted by Friday 1 April, is also located on the website.
Mr Warland (Assistant Headteacher) who oversees the Y9 options process said, ‘I am really pleased to be able to share this new website with students and parents. A lot of time has been spent developing this resource and it is hoped that it will allow our students to make even more informed decisions regarding this important stage in their education at Ponteland High School’.
Parents and students are also invited to the Year 9 options open evening which will be taking place in school on Wednesday 16 March (6.00 - 8.00pm).
