On Monday 8th December, our school choir took part in the Northumberland Schools Choir of the Year competition. Schools from across Northumberland were invited to submit a video performance of a Christmas piece, from which a selection was shortlisted to compete in the live final held in Morpeth.
We were delighted that our choir made it to the final, where they delivered a stunning rendition of The Snowman. It was a pleasure to hear such a wide range of performances from other schools and to have the opportunity to perform alongside them.
I am thrilled to announce that Ponteland High School was awarded 1st place—an incredible accolade for our choir and a testament to their hard work and commitment.
As winners, we will now go on to compete in the North of England Choir of the Year competition, which will take place on the 2nd February at The Glasshouse. We will share further details about this exciting event soon.
