Sixth Form Students Warm Hearts in Newcastle

December 16th, 2025

Sixth Form students have successfully concluded a heart-warming collection drive, gathering essential winter items for The People’s Kitchen, a vital local charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable people in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Students in Year 12 and Year 13, spearheaded the campaign, encouraging fellow students, staff, and the wider school community to donate much-needed items like gloves, socks and hats. The initiative aims to provide warmth and comfort to those experiencing homelessness and hardship during the cold winter months. The collection was organized as part of the Sixth Form’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and charitable work. The students recognised the critical need for basic necessities as temperatures drop and decided to focus their efforts on tangible support for those in need right here in their city. Seeing the amount of generosity from everyone at the school has been inspiring. We understand that simple items like a warm pair of socks or a hat can make a massive difference to someone sleeping rough.
The People’s Kitchen has been providing food, friendship, and essential support to the homeless and disadvantaged of Newcastle since 1985. The donated items will be distributed directly to those who rely on the charity’s services.
