It is well known that Ponteland High School has a proud tradition of competing and succeeding in EYP with many of our previous students now alumni. However, we are particularly proud of George Whitney (Year 13) who was a key member of the organising team for the National session in Newcastle this year. Having started his own EYP journey by attending the North East Regional Forum in 2025 as a delegate, it is extremely impressive to see him playing such a crucial role within the organisation. These roles are of course voluntary, and without students like George, these events simply couldn’t happen. Furthermore, as EYP operates as an independent educational charity, George worked hard to secure a major sponsorship deal with the Italian brand illycaffè for Innovate NSC 2026.
