As summer sunshine bathes the North East coast, students from Years 7 to 10 at Ponteland High School are heading to the beach this week for an unforgettable surfing experience at Longsands Surf School in Tynemouth.
Taking place from 30 June to 3 July, the sessions are divided by year group, giving each a dedicated day to enjoy the waves and warm weather. Students will leave school at 9:00am, arriving just in time for a 10:00am start, and return by early afternoon after a 2-hour lesson filled with sea, sun, and surfing.
Each lesson includes expert tuition with a low 1:8 instructor-to-student ratio, ensuring plenty of individual guidance.
The Longsands Surf School, well-known for its experienced instructors and scenic beachfront, promises a fun and safe introduction to the sport. Along with the recent stretch of warm, sunny weather, the timing couldn’t be better for students to dip their toes into surfing—perhaps for the very first time.
