A group of talented Year 10 Hospitality and Catering students showcased their culinary skills and professionalism this week by preparing and serving a stunning afternoon tea for members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) as part of their course assessment.
The students worked diligently to plan, prepare, and present a selection of classic afternoon tea treats, including freshly baked scones, delicate finger sandwiches, savoury bites, and beautifully decorated cakes and pastries. Each item was thoughtfully crafted, with a strong emphasis on presentation, flavour, and dietary consideration.
In preparation for the event, students researched and adapted recipes to ensure they met a variety of dietary requirements. Their attention to detail and commitment to inclusivity ensured that every guest was able to enjoy the full afternoon tea experience without compromise.
The dining area was transformed into a welcoming and elegant setting, with a beautifully laid table. This practical assessment was a valuable opportunity for students to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have developed in their Hospitality and Catering course, from food preparation and hygiene to event planning.
Well done to all the students involved – a fantastic achievement and a memorable experience for everyone who attended.
