Ayla B won the British Triathlon championships, 11-12 Girls TriStar 2 final last weekend in Mallory, Leicestershire.
Ayla swam 300m in open water followed by a 1200m run and qualified for the final from heat 1. The final replicated the same distances later in the morning.
Ayla was competing for the North East after qualifying for the team after a series of events and this is her first National title.
