Coastal Explorations

April 7th, 2026

Year 8 & 9 students recently enjoyed a day learning about the history, heritage and industry of the North East coast. Students started the day by going on board the Northumberland Royal Yacht Club Light Vessel boat which is moored at Blyth Harbour. They then had a guided tour of Seaton Delaval Hall and learnt all about its surprising and fun history. Finally, students had a guided walk of Seaton Sluice with a local Historian.

Deputy Headteacher, Mr Warland, says ‘this was an excellent trip which really inspired students about the rich history of our local area’. Students will now put this inspiration into a film which they are producing with education charity Hand Of.
