On Friday 21 April our school wind band performed with three other renowned ensembles from the Tyne Valley:
Ponteland Community Wind Band, Prudhoe Community Wind Band and Whittonstall Community Wind Band.
These ensembles are well recognised for their musical contributions in the Tyne Valley and we were delighted to have the opportunity to perform with them as they very rarely meet together for a joint concert.
The concert took place in our school assembly hall. Each ensemble presented a small programme of three or four pieces. At the end of the concert all four ensembles then joined together to perform a piece which was a rare spectacle.
Head of Music, Mr Rosier said "We were delighted to have hosted this event and encourage community music making to take place in the Tyne Valley as well as encouraging our students to join these well established ensembles outside of school time" .
