Jamie Eastlake and two professional actors came into school where they worked with several groups of students who are taking either GCSE or A Level Drama. They looked at how to choose the perfect monologue and also how to refine the monologues. Many students performed for the director and actors and were given individual feedback and techniques on how to improve their work. Students also had the chance to ask questions about the industry and about careers in the industry. Jamie and the actors were really impressed with the broad range of talent and how polite and respectful the students were throughout the workshops.
Jamie said “Was an absolute pleasure to spend another day with the brilliant pupils at Ponteland. All of the students jumped into the work we set and we were delighted to find a heap of young actors who had stacks of promise. We hope that by meeting professional actors and theatre makers from the region that it encourages students to look at other options for careers and that they now know that they are viable options. If you like something you can do it as a job. We’ll hopefully be back again in the future to meet more brilliant talented students”
