Once again, our chess team prepared to do battle! This time in the second regional final in our group after we succeeded against Cardinal Hume Catholic School last month.
We were drawn against a team from the Royal Grammar School, Jesmond which we knew was going to be challenging. Our team played well on the day, but sadly we didn't do enough to proceed.
Our dreams of attending the final in the summer may have sadly come to an end. However, I have to say that I have never been prouder of the determination and skill of our team who have played brilliantly throughout the competition. The team are keen to play again next year and practice is in full swing at break and lunchtimes in the library.
Students who took part were:
Mylo S, Ryan A, Abigail E, James H, Beau H and Joshua A.
