In collaboration with the charity, Newcastle United Foundation (NUF), Ponteland High School hosted an engaging team-building event that left Year 7 students energised and inspired.
Held on Monday 18th December, the event brought together Year 7 students from different form classes to participate in a series of activities that were organised and led by a group of Year 9 students. Niamh, Amelia, Chloe, Sanjana, Holly, Lily, Georgie and Emily designed some fantastic games to boost problem-solving skills creating an inclusive environment where students could collaborate, support each other, and build friendships.
“Brilliant!”, “it was so much fun”, and “when can we do this again?” were a few of the lovely comments from the Year 7 students as they left the team building event.
Throughout the two-hour session, the Year 7 students demonstrated enthusiasm and a positive attitude, embracing the opportunity to step out of their comfort zones and engage in new experiences. The event concluded with a celebration of the accomplishments of each team and recognized outstanding teamwork, leadership, and creativity.
As an extra surprise, Cyra from NUF awarded two tickets for the Newcastle United match on boxing day to Ocha (Year 7) for his enthusiasm and participation and Holly (Year 9) for her brilliant leadership and initiative.
