We are extremely pleased to announce that Samuel Wood and Matthew Sanderson in Y11 have both been awarded Arkwright Engineering Scholarships for 2026-2028 to cover their time in Sixth Form. The Arkwright Engineering Scholarship is a prestigious UK programme designed to inspire and support the UK’s next generation of engineers: only 400 scholarships are awarded each year and it is a very competitive selection process which runs from September to May. Following their initial application, they had to complete an actual design project, sit an academic exam to assess their problem-solving and engineering aptitude and finally face a formal interview panel. They have done very well!
As Scholars, they can expect networking opportunities, industry mentoring, help organising work experience, access to online and live resources and events and a potential bursary for sixth form.
