As the final weekend of the Northumberland and Durham County Championships draws to a close, Ponteland High's Eve, Year 9, celebrates her success:
By the end of the Championshiops, in total, Eve had won:
Gold 50m Backstroke
Gold 100m Backstroke
Gold 200m Backstroke
Silver 800m Freestyle
Silver 1500m Freestyle
Bronze 200m Butterfly
Bronze 400m Individual Medley
The qualifying window for the British Championships starts in March (runs March to May) and she’s heading to Sheffield at the end of March for her first meet in the window to see if she can set some good times.
Eve's mum, Liz, said "She’ll race 3 times in total in the qualifying period and if she sits top 24 in Britain in her swims at the end of that time, she’ll qualify to compete at them in the British Champs. Fingers crossed!"
