Our careers focus last week in school was on Green Careers as we marked the national Green Careers Week scheme in school. This included hearing more from former student Ali Stansfield as part of our Career of the Week. Ali now works for Newcastle Council as a sustainable transport worker. On Friday we welcomed Ali and other local partners to host a Careers Breakfast focus on Green Careers for students in years 9 and 10. This allowed the students involved to have face-to-face encounters with local partners across the green sector.
Mr Greenshields said, 'It was great to host our first careers breakfast of the year with a focus on green careers. I've no doubt that green careers are going to prove more and more important in our economy in the years to come. As such this was a great chance for students to consider this in more detail and have valuable encounters with careers that will have developed their understanding of the world of work significantly.'
