The Ponteland Maths department recently celebrated the success of five of our best Year 8 mathematicians as they achieved a “Gold Standard” in the Junior Maths Challenge.
These maths challenge events are organised by the UKMT and are the UK’s most popular school Mathematical Challenges, with over 700,000 entries per year. They provide a great opportunity for our students to gain experience with the problem solving style questions.
Abigail E, Emily A, Imogen S, Kate Massie (pictured L-R) and Lucas S were the “best in school” and have qualified for the next round of the Junior Maths Challenge - well done to everyone who took part!
