As December begins to inch closer, there’s a noticeable shift in the atmosphere at school. There is an obvious sense of excitement in the air. In the classrooms, it starts small. The first whispers of Christmas come from the decorations—the strings of twinkling lights that begin to appear in common areas, the trees that pop up in the front of the school, and the posters of snowflakes and holly that soon cover bulletin boards.
Teachers begin to play festive music during breaks. Even the most serious of lessons are influenced with the season, with the mention of holiday plans sneaking into conversation.
