On Wednesday evening, some of our instrumentalists attended an open rehearsal with Ponteland Community Band. The students sat alongside the band’s regular members and took part in rehearsing and performing a wide variety of music, including selections from Aladdin, the Top Gun soundtrack and a 1990s music megamix.
It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to experience playing as part of a larger community ensemble, work with musicians of different ages and abilities, and perform a varied programme of music in a welcoming setting.
Ponteland Community Band rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6.45–8.45 pm at Ponteland Community Primary School. Parents who play an instrument, as well as students, are very welcome to come along for a play-along session.
