National Poetry Day was on the 6th October this year and to celebrate Key Stage 3 got creative by making their own blackout poems.
Students were given extracts from texts and then had to pick words out of that extract to make a poem. They were then given the artistic license to decorate their poems in the theme of their chosen poem.
This year the official theme of National Poetry Day was the environment, and some entries very cleverly managed to incorporate this beautifully into both their poems and the design of their work. English Teacher Miss Bamborough said "There was some fantastic work happening in lessons and students enjoyed this as a creative outlet. Well done KS3!"
