This week students have had a visit from the National Youth Dance Company. Students took part in an advanced Dance workshop looking at the work of Wayne McGregor. Students worked with professional dancers to learn set choreography before using the stylistic qualities of the piece to create their own movement.
This is an excellent opportunity for our Btech Dance students to explore new practitioners and take part in a company workshop allowing them to gain a broader knowledge of the industry. The workshop was fast paced and explored the use of arm movements in group choreography to create impact on an audience. The Dance company was very impressed with the students ability to pick up choreography quickly and to be able to perform to such a high standard.
