We are incredibly proud to celebrate the sporting success of four of our Year 7 students: Kate S, Ayda W, Emma G, and Isabella K.
Representing their club, Ponteland United Under 12’s Thunder, the girls competed in the Northumberland Football League U12 Girls Chairman’s Cup Final last week against a tough Alnwick Town Blacks side.
In what can only be described as a “nail-biter,” the match remained a tense 0-0 deadlock through to the final whistle. With the trophy on the line, the game moved to a penalty shootout. The Thunder players showed nerves of steel, securing a 4-2 victory on penalties to claim the title!
Winning a regional cup final is a testament to the girls’ dedication, teamwork, and resilience. It is wonderful to see our students excelling in the local community and representing Ponteland with such spirit.
