It was an absolute pleasure to accompany our Year 10 students to Paris.
On the first day, we enjoyed a boat cruise along the river Seine and in the evening, we sampled the delights of Place du Tertre in Montmartre. On day two, we experienced the magic of Disneyland where not even Mr Coulson was afraid of the Tower of Terror! That evening, we had dinner in the Left Bank area, boasting the beautiful backdrop of Notre Dame Cathedral. On day three, we queued very patiently for the Eiffel Tower where students took some fantastic photos in extremely windy conditions. After that, we headed to the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysées.
We walked through the stunning Jardin des Tuileries and caught a glimpse of the Louvre. Finally, the highlight of the trip was our visit to Bouillon Chartier, a traditional French restaurant. Those brave enough, tried snails. Those not brave enough, stuck to the chocolate profiteroles! The fourth day saw us make our long journey home from Paris to Calais, Calais to Dover and Dover to Ponteland.
Trip Leader and French Teacher Mrs Davison said “In summary, our students were exceptional. It was brilliant to see them using their French for real and hopefully they have made memories for life!”
Many thanks to Mr Benn, Miss Thompson and Mr Coulson for their excellent support during the visit.
