On Thursday 15 December, Ponteland High School held our Christmas concert, a wonderful evening was had by all
We were delighted to welcome a capacity audience who enjoyed a wide range of musical styles and genres.
Several ensembles took to the stage including the:
- Wind band
- String group
- Brass band
- Whistling sheep ceilidh band
- Junior choir
- Senior choir
- Jazz band
Along with these ensembles, various outstanding soloists performed works ranging from Debussy to Howard Blake.
All the pupils were an absolute credit to the music department and Ponteland High School and we are very proud of them.
Head of Music, Mr Rosier said “Thanks must also go to all the instrumental teachers who have guided their musical journey so far and helped develop the skills required for such an event to take place
In the next term we are planning a concert series for various instrument families of the orchestra. Please keep an eye out for the dates and we look forward to welcoming you to some if not all of these events”
