Just one week into the new term, Year 7 students set off on an adventure that they will remember for the rest of their time at Ponteland High School.  During the week, each Year 7 tutor group embarked on a day filled with team building activities in order to get to know their tutor and form class.  As the new Year 7 cohort had missed out on the usual transition activities, the trip was a great opportunity for building relationships, developing communication skills and learning how to solve problems together.

The fantastic activities, which were organised by Tom Hopper from Pinpoint Adventure, included crossing a toxic swamp, climbing through a rope web and orienteering.  The weather was kind and on most days, the students needed suncream rather than rain jackets.  In fact, the only problem that students encountered was the wasps!

Oscar and Leo from 7CDo, said:  “It was really fun and quite challenging” and “I learnt a lot about working in a team.”   Year 7 form tutor, Mr Suffolk summarised the trip as:  “Fantastic teamwork, the forming of strong relationships and a brilliant start to Ponteland High School!”
