We are very proud to report that Miss Cowell has been selected to represent Northumberland Senior Women's Rugby Team at home against Yorkshire. Miss Cowell plays her club rugby at Novocastrians RFC in Longbenton and has represented Northumberland over the last 6 years.
This season the training squad was expanded to 40 players to allow dynamic training sessions and to give more women the opportunity to benefit from the higher level of coaching in a new environment. It has also meant that training can be competitive with sufficient numbers for 2 teams to train against each other, creating a better platform to learn, but also for selectors to see real game performances.
Miss Cowell says, “I feel honoured to be pulling on the county shirt once again especially after the disruption over the past 2 years. It's great to be back with a chance to show the county what the ladies have to offer and how hard we have worked on the training field. “
