Ponteland High students strive for success in cricket

15 June 2022

Before the half term break, the U13 boys team hosted Gosforth East Middle School for a County Cup game. The boys were victorious with excellent batting from Alderson and Connell and a hatrick for Max M!

The U15 girls also took part in a participation event hosted by the Northumberland Cricket Board. The girls got to grips with bowling, batting and fielding.

Finally, Ponteland’s hosted Year 4 students from Darras Hall Primary Schools on the final Friday of the half-term.

Our year 9 sports leaders were an integral part of the day. They led students through a series of different sports and activities, including plenty of cricket.

Head of PE, Mr Dunn said, ‘This event highlights how wonderful being part of the Pele Trust partnership is. We hope to see many of these Darras Hall students playing sports for Ponteland High in a few years time. The high school students did an outstanding job at demonstrating how fun and accessible sport at the high school is.’
