Post 18 Futures Event

14 October 2024

On Wednesday evening, many of our year 11 students and Sixth Formers listened to informative talks about their post 18 futures and university finance from Headmaster Mr McElwee and had the fantastic opportunity to learn about a range of universities and what they have to offer.

Students were able to ask the representatives of these universities important questions about the courses available and were given plenty of information booklets to help with their decision
making. One student who attended, Archie, said “The university visitors were very helpful and gave me lots of great advice and guidance”. Overall, it was an excellent evening that gave students valuable information which will hopefully help them to make the best choices for their future.

Mrs Davison, Deputy Head of Sixth form added "We would like to thank everyone who attended and supported the Post 18 Futures Event in school. It was an excellent evening, with students from years 11-13 and encompassing a broad range of interests and potential destinations".

There were over 30 exhibitors in our market place setting where students and parents were able to find out more information from the various universities, colleges, industries and employers and apprenticeship providers.  There were information sessions held throughout the evening delivered by Ask Apprenticeships, Newcastle University and Richard Petty from Trinity College,Oxford.
