We are delighted to say that Thomas P, Year 10, has been awarded 'Learner of the month' by Music Partnership North. One pupil is selected from across Northumberland for their outstanding effort in instrumental lessons.
Thomas was nominated by his woodwind teacher Andrea DeVere who said:
"Since starting grade 6 traditional sax [having previously done jazz grades] he has absolutely flown. He is working so hard and is literally flying in terms of his progress. Every week he comes back and is so enthusiastic about playing and is also doing really well in his GCSE music class. A couple of weeks ago he even picked out some kind of mirrored melody (I hadn’t a clue) in one of his pieces because he’d learnt about it in GCSE class then recognised it in one of his grade 6 pieces. He’s honestly just had such a massive turn around. Can’t say enough about Thomas!"
