This half term, Year 11 Physical Education students have been participating in a unique program in collaboration with US Active, a North East charity dedicated to promoting mental health and stress management. Under the guidance of instructor Sally Proudlock, students have engaged in an introduction to yoga course, which has proven to be immensely beneficial.

The initiative aims to equip students with valuable techniques to manage stress and enhance their overall well-being. Feedback from participants highlights the positive impact of the sessions, emphasising not only improved physical health but also greater mental clarity and relaxation.

Sally Proudlock remarked on the students’ enthusiasm and commitment, noting how quickly they adapted to the practices. As the course continues, students are encouraged to incorporate yoga techniques into their daily routines, fostering a lifelong appreciation for mental and physical wellness.

This collaboration reflects the school’s commitment to holistic education, supporting students in both their academic and personal development. Students and staff alike look forward to seeing the continued benefits of this valuable program.
