Valencia 2025

November 6th, 2025

In the penultimate week of term, 42 students from Years 9, 11 and 13 took part in an unforgettable trip to Valencia, Spain – a city that beautifully blends rich history with modern innovation. We explored both the historic heart of the city and its contemporary landmarks, including the stunning City of Arts and Sciences, where students were amazed by the impressive aquarium and interactive science museum. Immersing themselves in Spanish culture, students practised their language skills by ordering authentic tapas and other local delicacies at the bustling Mercado Central. They also discovered Valencia’s sweeter side with a visit to a Turrón factory, which has been crafting this traditional almond nougat for nearly 300 years.

A highlight of the trip was a journey to Las Salinas, the region’s famous salt flats, where students were treated to the sight of wild flamingos in their natural habitat. The adventure concluded with some well-deserved relaxation and of course, ice cream on the beach before heading home.

The trip was a fantastic opportunity for students to experience Spanish culture first hand, enhance their language skills, and make lasting memories with friends and teachers alike.
