Over 30 of our Y11 students attended our Virtual Careers in Healthcare Talk with Inspiring the Future and Health Education North East on Thursday 25 November.
The students met with five volunteers from the healthcare sector; a paramedic, physiotherapist, physiotherapy student, mental health nurse and portfolio optimisation manager. These volunteers each gave up their time to give an insight into their role, their route into it and offered useful advice to students interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field.
All students interested in attending events such as this in the future are encouraged to get in touch with our Careers Coordinator, Miss Makepeace, with more information on the industries or pathways they're interested in.
Miss Makepeace commented, “I was really impressed with the students' professionalism and active listening skills (a good one for the budding paramedics) and all of the volunteers commended the students on the insightful questions they asked in the Q&A session. I plan to offer similar sessions to this across other sectors and am therefore keen to gauge student’s interests to take this forward.”
