Words, Art, and Music: Year 7 Collaborate with ‘Hand Of’ Charity

May 19th, 2026

On Thursday 14th May, a group of Year 7 pupils visited Theatre Royal to take part in a jam-packed creative arts project based on storytelling. The day was organised by Hand Of, a charity who brought along professional artists, musicians and writers that the Year 7 students worked alongside to create and produce two stories.

The morning started with team building and a fact-filled tour of Theatre Royal. During this tour, pupils had the opportunity to see backstage, below stage and even sit on the stage itself. After lunch, pupils split into three groups to work on the narration, drawing and music for their stories. It was amazing to see the pupils working together to execute a high-standard production while developing their collaboration skills and confidence.

The day ended with a professional recording of their final performances that every pupil took part in. This was a brilliantly planned day filled with a range of exciting activities – what an amazing experience for these Year 7!
