World Challenge Expedition: Borneo – The Adventure of a Lifetime Begins

July 16th, 2025

A group of our Year 12 students, accompanied by two dedicated members of staff, have officially embarked on an incredible journey to one of the most fascinating places on Earth – Borneo.

Borneo is the third-largest island in the world and is located in Southeast Asia. It’s known for its stunning rainforests, rare wildlife, and rich cultural heritage. It’s also one of the only places on Earth where wild orangutans still roam freely in their natural habitat.

Our students are taking part in the World Challenge Expedition, a program designed to help young people build confidence, resilience, leadership, and teamwork skills through real-world experiences. Over the next few weeks, they will be trekking through tropical jungles, working on community projects, learning about conservation, and embracing the challenges of outdoor living in a completely different environment.

The group has already had their first unforgettable moment – spotting orangutans in the wild. These gentle, intelligent creatures are critically endangered, and seeing them up close in their natural surroundings is something our students will never forget.

We’re incredibly proud of the courage and commitment shown by our Year 12 team. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we can’t wait to hear more updates from their adventure.

Stay tuned for more news from Borneo!
