The end of February half term marked the return of the annual ski trip, seeing 50 students from across Y8 and Y9 venturing across to the beautiful resort of Les Menuires in the alpine regions of France. This year saw one of the largest uptakes of first-time skiers, as well as many students with very limited skiing experience also joining to improve their skills. The intermediate group were able to tackle a variety of slopes immediately whilst everyone else took to the nursery slopes. Within a few days, all students bid farewell to the nursery slopes, welcomed the use of poles and were able to keep pace with their instructors across a variety of different slopes of varying levels. By the end of the trip, all students tackled a red run (intermediate run) to make their way to their graduation ceremony on a beautiful viewing platform that overlooked Mont Blanc. A whole trip ski race to the last chairlift of the trip felt like a fitting end to celebrate how all students were leaving the trip very much at a similar level to the rest of their peers.
