Young Chefs Cook Up a Storm: Cooking Competition Winners Revealed

July 9th, 2026

After receiving loads of entries for our cooking competition across the primary schools, five lucky winners had the privilege of cooking alongside our food tech leaders and school chef to produce the dishes they came up with themselves! We unfortunately had to choose two winners out of the excellent selection, and those winners are:

Edison Davies – ‘Not so Hot’ Honey Pasta

Pasta in a silky smooth sauce with honey, chilli, and mascarpone balanced incredibly well together and thickened with the pasta’s own starch water. This dish was chosen due to its beautiful appearance and well thought out recipe and taste.

Apollo Wright – Buzzin’ Banana Bread

Sweet honey banana bread with currants and a crunchy sunflower seed finish. This dish showed incredible planning for allergen inclusivity, and it was so incredibly moist and tasty! This is a truly delicious healthier version of a sweet treat.

We were really impressed by how well everyone handled learning in a kitchen, and we hope everyone had as much fun as we did! The two winners will be making samples of their dishes for the visitors of the bee showcase in September, so hopefully you all get to try these wonderful dishes for yourselves!
